GOLF COURSES IN TENERIFE...

Golf del Sur
Golf del Sur Opened in 1987, it’s the only course in the Canary Islands with 3 championship combinations. It has hosted several PGA European Tour events, with victories by Jose Maria Olazabal, Mark James, David Gilford and in May 2007 the Tenerife Ladies Open winner Nikki Garrett. The course features impressive bunkers of dark sand, deep ravines, giant cacti, water hazards and wide fairways. The world’s longest drive was recorded here with Britain’s Karl Woodward driving a distance of 408 yards. Original Designer: Pepe Gancedo, redesigned in 2005 by Manuel Pinero of Ryder Cup fame.

Amarilla Golf & Country Club
13 holes on this golf course run alongside the sea and consequently have incredible ocean and sweeping views straight up to the top of Teide mountain, which are breathtaking. On the 5th you’ll have to hit over the water hazard…the sea!
Highly recommended course.

Buenavista Golf Club
Buenavista Golf Club Located on the north-western corner of the island, Buenavista is surrounded by the Teno mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean. 5 holes are close to the rocky coastline, thus creating a great backdrop to your game and giving the impression you are teeing off into the ocean. You’d be hard pushed to beat the views on the 15th and the 17th anywhere in the world. The great club house has superb views over most of the course.
Designer: Seve Ballesteros

Costa Adeje Golf
This golf course was designed around the existing terrain, with old farm terracing and original dry stone walls giving this course a very traditional feel. The views are spectacular over the sea and towards the neighbouring island of La Gomera.  It begins with a long par 5 and ends with another par 5. You can even go down to the driving range in your buggy…in a lift. Thouroughly enjoyable course. Hosts to the Tenerife Ladies Open 2008. Winner Rebecca Hudson (UK)

Las Americas Golf Club
This course has hosted many important international events including the Spanish Championship and Spanish Professional Seniors Championship. It's sheltered from the wind by a range of hills and features streams and ravines, you’ll need your wits about you as there are plenty of water hazards with water coming into play on no less than 8 holes. Located just a short taxi ride from the beaches of Las Americas, although you would never know...

Tecina Golf Course – La Gomera
We’ve included this golf course, even though technically it’s not in Tenerife. A 30 minute ferry journey will get you to the island of La Gomera, where the views of Tenerife cannot be beaten from the Tecina golf course.  The 4th hole fourth hole will challenge you to drive over the Tapahuga ravine making this a tough par three while the tenth tee is all 45 metres above the level of the green, offering all who play there unforgettable views.

Abama Golf
Part of a luxury complex in the west of the island. The golf course has 22 lakes, 20,000 trees and bunkers of marble sand and fantastic greens. The course has been designed to be enjoyed by players of all levels. It’s expensive but worth it!
Designer: Dave Thomas (also designed the Belfry)

Los Palos Golf
Los Palos is a ninehole par 27 golf course in a great setting. People could be confused in thinking that this is a pitch and putt course, but it really couldn’t be further from the truth. It features water obstacles of lakes and streams, is perfect for beginners or for improving your short game. Great fun. Also has a golf driving range, great clubhouse with views over the whole course...and they offer golf tuition.

Real Tenerife Golf Club
Located in the North of the island of Tenerife, Real Club de Golf de Tenerife is the second oldest golf club in Spain and was founded in 1932. This course is 600 metres above sea level with Mount Tiede as its backdrop and is surrounded by mature trees and some breathtaking views. This is a rolling course with steep cliffs and many of the holes with dry streambeds coming into play making precision play often important. It’s clubhouse is a comfortable place to wind down.
